What Can I Do?

People want to support our soldiers, but many of them just don’t know quite what to do. Make it your business to find ways to get involved – you’ll get a wonderful sense of satisfaction, your anxiety will lessen, and your days of waiting will pass more quickly.

How do I know this? Through personal experience. Since the unit deployed, I have been active in developing a ministry to our soldiers at church, have had a hand in creating www.soldiersibs.org, and I am becoming a regular at the local post office. All of my activities are not only helping me learn more about being a military mom, they are keeping me closer to my son. I can think about him all the time in a much more positive way.
(Vicki Foster, Cincinnati)

There are many ways you can help. Click on the links below for a few suggestions:

  • VOLUNTEER
Getting involved in community support. Giving the soldiers a boost helps to calm fears and remove feelings of helplessness.
  • SEND MAIL
    So far from home, soldiers
LOVE to get mail ... anything from a postcard saying “Hi” to a box full of goodies is sure to bring a smile. Read on for some ideas.
  • SEND A GREETING
You don’t even have to get out of your chair to do this. Simply type a greeting for the soldiers into our form, and we'll add it to our Greetings page. The 215th soldiers have internet access on the base, so they will see it.
